Looking up …

Bristol has just enjoyed the wonders of the International Balloon Fiesta 2011. Around 100 hot air balloons from around the world were gathered in a field near Bristol with a hope to fly on mass at 7am and 7pm each day.

Every year I attend the early morning flights, rising from bed at 5am to get to the site in time for the initial inflation and then take off. And each year I arrive with a hope to capture images of the balloons in a different way to previous years. This year I aimed to create simple graphical images taken from directly below the balloons as they float above and to capture the paterns inside the envelopes.

I hope you enjoy this selection of my images from this years event.
